Build a new dataset with Advanced Reporting for Salesforce

Create datasets to drive your scheduled reports. The Query Builder is used to visually build relationship between Salesforce and non-Salesforce objects.

You no longer need to be limited to a single object (e.g., case, account, etc.). Advanced Reporting allows you to create cross-object and cross-platform (additional connectors required) relationships that can be used to generate reports.

To create a new dataset:

  1. Click to open the Build tab.
  2. Click New Dataset.
  3. Click the box labeled Click to start.
  4. Select the object.
  5. Click the box again to select the fields to use within that object.
  6. To add a new object relationship, hover of the box and click the green + sign.
    1. Select the object.
    2. Click the box again
  7. Repeat this process to add an additional relationships.
  8. Click Create to save the dataset.
  9. Add the dataset name and dataset properties.
  10. Schedule the dataset to make it ready for use.
